But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

“This time, don’t wait.”

That was not what I anticipated hearing from God the day I curled up in my place of prayer, broken but confident He would say just what I expected Him to. In the midst of my crying, screaming, wailing…my prayer time came to a screeching halt when I heard those four words echoing in my soul, “This time, don’t wait”.

Three years had passed after my now former husband had returned home following a two year separation. After faithfully waiting, praying and believing he would come back home, God did exactly what I asked. About two years into reconciliation, I wrote and published my very first book titled Worth the Wait. As a matter of fact it was this very day eight years ago that I had my book signing debut…07-07-07. Oh my, seven is God’s perfect number, the number of completion. For me, this was like God saying, “I am sealing the deal!”

What an accomplishment. I was so proud. It was not just because of this book that I just knew would make it to the New York Times Best Seller’s List. I was more so proud of my ability to stand and trust God through one of the most difficult and traumatic times of my life.

Now everything about this time in my life was perfect…UNTIL…

Today I have the honor of being hosted at a dear blogger-friend’s site. Kristi Woods has graciously welcomed me to share my story at her place today. To read the remainder of this story…CLICK HERE.

Yolanda, I recently felt God tell me to stop waiting too. It felt so foreign, so untrusting while at the same time trusting … if that even makes sense. But I am holding on to this truth: “It only takes Jesus to make me complete.” I’ll keep trusting Him, each step of the way.
Thank you, Yolanda, for sharing your heart at #IntentionalTuesday on Intentionally Pursuing and encouraging to walk in the plan God has just for me. : )

    Hey Yolanda,

I came over on the Blessings Counter Link, and I’m glad to find your site. I also followed you on Twitter~

Thanks for a great word about learning to hear when God is saying “wait” and when He is saying “don’t wait.”

Sometimes I wish I had the Pillar of Fire and the Pillar of Cloud to lead me! I guess that’s why He invites us to spend time in His Presence – so we can hear more clearly.

Hope you have a blessed day today~

Hi, Yolanda! I’m sure it truly shook your faith to have God change things up on you like that. But I like that you didn’t just toss out the story He gave you to share like so much rubbish. Instead you trusted that He knew what He was doing both then and now. I thank you for sharing this with us at Grace and Truth last week! 🙂
